This is perhaps the most intense color palette I have ever used. There's almost anger in this painting and as I was creating it, it's all directed at one man who currently is shifting world dynamics and creating a path of destruction unheard of since the days of Hitler. Yes, the Red Menace is not just intense, it's also symbolic with a red robed man standing in a sea of red in what could be poppies, could be roses, staring at an angry red sky. It's dramatic. And quite an unexpected visual.
I consider myself to be a modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better. Enjoy!
