Is this a young woman setting out on her own? Is she about to go through turbulent times? Or is this simply a surreal setting with a delicate piece of china resembling some sort of Disney-esque ride serving as the vessel for this young girl to take on the sea? That's for the viewer to decide!
I consider myself to be a modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better. Enjoy!
