Artist's Description
Created in my early painting days where I was experimenting with shapes and textures. Some might say this is a failed experiment. I've always liked it and have no real idea why.
About Thomas Blood
I consider myself to be a modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better. Enjoy! And please consider buying an item or two - they make excellent conversation starters!

Hi, Debora. This one was done when I was first venturing into painting and trying to figure out how to use an airbrush. The combination of airbrush and acrylics proved to be a good pairing for me in some of my later paintings though I have since moved to all acrylics - too much ventilation required with airbrushing! Yes, it is a monstrosity. And quite garish, too with a weird color palette. I signed it in four corners, so that it could be hung in any direction. But it has never hung anywhere, even in my own abode. It remains in my painting archives like a Frankenstein monster that has been put into a deep slumber. I do invite you to check out my other paintings. They don't all fall into the ugly mode as this one does though I must admit, I have a few other candidates that might have been worthy as well. Keep creating! Tom
