Several months ago, I created a series of paintings featuring word plays as the key visuals. I painted "Rock & Roll", "Fish & Chips" and "Jack & Coke". The first "Rock & Roll" painting sold. I liked the concept so much, that I decided to create a new version featuring a different rock and a different style of roll but with the same basic color palette. In this version, a slice of melted butter sits atop the dinner roll and the rock is more of an odd shape. Same basic concept. After all, it's still rock & roll to me.
I consider myself to be a modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better. Enjoy! And please consider buying an item or two - they make excellent conversation starters!
