This is the third in a series of unexpected items, combined together with an ampersand to create a common phrase. First there was Rock & Roll, then came Fish & Chips. Now I bring Jack & Coke. I love the combination of tight detail in the Jack of Hearts juxtaposed against the more interpretive glass of coke that is rougher in execution. It's a startling image and would make a great addition to any poker room or bar! It's a shame you can only see the image in its small, on-screen format. At 24" x 48", it's a large painting that jumps out at you from a distance. When put next to its other two paintings in the series, it's a very striking showing.
I consider myself to be a modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better. Enjoy!
