Artist's Description
As kids, we grew up hearing the phrase, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. But a big, red juicy apple is something to be enjoyed. So I decided to paint a giant red apple sitting on a cloud. Underneath, three children are gathered under an apple tree and a young girl is reaching for one of her own. As a print, this painting would look great in a child's room or a doctor's office! It is bright and cheery and almost seems as if it could be the cover of some children's book.
About Thomas Blood
I consider myself to be a modern day surrealist, heavily influenced by my all-time favorite artist, Rene Magritte. I paint ideas. My goal is to paint the impossible, or at least, the highly improbable. With my paintings, you can always tell what's going on, you just don't necessarily know why. I want my paintings to tell stories that make you think. And if I can bring a smile to your face, that's even better. Enjoy!
